Description
This is the southernmost abutment of the Gun Hill Road Bridge. It is incised with the letters B-R-P-R – Bronx River Parkway Reservation. This bridge is the southernmost bridge over the Bronx River parkway. It dates to the road’s original construction and was designed by the architect Charles Stoughton. This point marked the original parkway drive’s junction with the pre-existing Bronx Boulevard. Location of photograph: Bronx Borough – New York City.
