The Norway Ski Club built this ski jump in Silver Lake, Harrison in 1928 and introduced local residents to ski jumping. Club members used the site until 1935 when the club moved to Fishkill. Shortly thereafter a group of local teenagers organized the Norswift Ski Club. The old trestle was torn down and a new 76 foot high trestle was constructed. The new ski jump was used until 1949 when it was destroyed by a hurricane.
Torger Tokle was a national ski jumping champion. He was killed in action in 1945 in Italy during World War II. Tokle is pictured on the far right of the photograph.
