Deed from Patthunke, Beopo and Wapetuck, Indian Proprietors, to Caleb Heathcote, Feb. 24, 1702

This 300-year old deed transferred a section of land bordering Eastchester and the Bronx River from its Native American owners to Caleb Heathcote. Reference is made in this land transfer to a prior deed executed in 1701 between Beopo and Heathcote for an adjoining parcel of land. The 1702 deed is known as the Heathcote Purchase. The land acquired became the Manor of Scarsdale, the last of the six Westchester manors.
