New York, Westchester and Boston Railway Engineers' Dinner Menu,
December
2, 1911
The New York, Westchester and Boston Railway was built between
1906 and 1912. Originating in the Bronx, the state-of-the-art,
all-electric railway was opened to White Plains in 1912. This menu,
printed on blueprint paper, was for an engineer’s dinner
held as the project approached completion. Because no expense was
spared in building the line, it has been called Westchester County's "million
dollar-a-mile railroad.” The railroad went bankrupt in 1937.
