The Palisade Boat Club, located on Warburton Avenue in Yonkers, was founded in 1866 by a group of Yonkers men who enjoyed rowing and other aquatic sports. Annual rowing scull and canoe regattas were held in competition with other Hudson and Harlem River clubs, but after World War I they became less frequent. The Club was also known for its excellent handball teams.
This program for the 24th Annual Regatta in 1891 lists the officers and members of the Club, as well as the scull races that were held that day. The program from the Annual Dinner in 1920 shows the menu and the speakers for the evening, and the newspaper article lists those who attended the dinner.
