Counterfeit $3 Bank Note, 1831

This counterfeit bank note was preserved as evidence in the 1831 indictment for forgery of George D. Hine of Somers. The case was recorded in the Minutes of the Court of General Sessions at Bedford in May of 1831.

The Justice Court and Court of General Sessions are only two of the many courts that have their records held at the Westchester County Archives.
